1. Assign a product within your area or business unit to each employee. They will complete a PowerPoint template that requires definition of features, benefits, and why people will buy this product. In addition, an area for specific case studies will be provided so other sales people can learn from their selling success and be able to reference customers by name which builds credibility.
a. This should take an employee if they know the product less than 1 hour to build.
b. If every department completed two products weekly the ability to cross-training and leverage one another’s knowledge grows over exponentially.
2. After staff members build their PowerPoint a number of options remain
a. Audio can be added
b. Images such as product photos can be added
c. Video can be added
3. After product training content is built you disseminate to other staff members whereby they check off they have review material and than they pass the materials to their next employee.
4. Another suggestion is to have each employee not only acknowledge they completed the content but also write down one employee they are committed to in regard to cross-selling based upon the information taught. This breeds the next step to use the content to sell.
